Happy Thanksgiving! 2015

By / November 26, 2015 / Podcast

Happy ThanksgivingToday is the day we have set aside for giving thanks, a non-religious holiday, or is it?  The Pilgrims set aside the time to give thanks for making it through the winter with the help of some new friends.  Washington set aside the time to give thanks to the “Almighty” for deliverance.  And Abraham Lincoln set aside the time to give thanks for the blessings of God amidst the worst time of our history: the American Civil War.

So today we feast and celebrate and take time to say thanks be to God for the blessings we have received.  If Lincoln can say thanks in the midst of the horror of war, then we all can say thanks to God for something, or for many things. Many are down and out in our society, but we can all say thanks for being born in a country where we are free to worship as we see fit, free to live where we want and free to do and be who God made us.

No matter our individual circumstance, we all are Americans who have the freedom of what if?  What if I do . . . What if I become . . . or What if I . . . ?  I thank God I have been blessed to be born in a place where I can believe as I see fit, to be free to offend or be offended.  It is a freedom we should be mindful of and never take for granted, please embrace the idea that we may not like what our neighbor has to say, but thank God Almighty he has the right to say it!

Thank you God for the personal blessings you have given me:

  • Mo

May we all take time to say thanks be to God today!  If you are breathing you have reason to give thanks, try it, it works.

Have a great Thanksgiving and eat, drink and be merry and take time to be thankful, it changes a heart.  Until next time, peace.
