This is year number three in my relatively new teaching career. Year number one was awful, difficult, little assistance and challenging students. Year two was much better as I was better supported, had more confidence and actually though I knew what I was doing. Year number threee begins tomorrow with a cadre of new students, including my son.
I pray that I am better equipped to handle the challenges THEY throw at me and that I can be something more than a history teacher, maybe a” life” teacher.
To all you students, teachers, administrators and parents, know that the reason 99 percent of people become teachers is to help our young folks grow and learn, and become the people we need them to be. So in that vain, may God grant me the wisdom, peace and discernment to be the teacher each of my students need. Happy new school year!
