I made it through the first week and am ready for the long weekend! I think it went pretty well, all things considered. I was able to get all of my forms passed out and most returned. I set up my classes and taught them what I expect from them and HOW I want them to do things. I like my students and I think I have developed a decent repoire with each of them.
The first week is so important, it sets the tone for the whole year. According to Harry Wong the first week is the most important week of the year, I agree. So by setting clear expectations and boundaries with the students in the first week we, hopefully, eliminate or greatly reduce problems.
Before I leave for the weekend I wanted to update the bus situation. I had blogged earlier about the “issues” surrounding my son riding the bus. Well, I’m happy to report that . . . they still really don’t know what is going on, but my son has figured out what to do in spite of the issues. Way to go T.K.
I hope your Labor Day weekend is a good one. Until next week, be well.
