If you read yesterday’s post you know that I had just met Melissa in the picnic area of the baseball stadium in Midland, Texas. I had just finished working the plate (umpiring) and called out the last player of the game and he and his team were not happy. Yelling, cursing and screaming ensued until I reached my future wife, who looked very hot as I remember.
I escaped the wrath of the team pursuing me, but in my haste to “get out of there” I missed the opportunity to talk with a beautiful young woman. As I entered the locker room I was still angry over the events at the end of the game. I believe I offered a few expletives myself and if memory serves, I threw my mask across the room and steamed while I waited to get into the shower.
It was while I was in the shower that I began to replay the last thirty minutes and the face of my future bride. As I exited the shower I remarked to my partner, Jeff, “I think that girl was hot, was she?” Jeff responded with a hearty yes, and, “If you don’t want to go out with her I will”, which of course made me want to go out with her even more.
I quickly dressed and exited the dressing room. I naively assumed she would be waiting for me, she wasn’t. I could hardly believe my luck, first the game and now the girl left me. Poor pitiful me! I didn’t have Lisa’s number, so I would have to wait until the morning to see if I could somehow get another chance to impress Melissa, since I had failed so miserably that night.
In my next post I will tell you just how I was able to impress the former Melissa Shiel enough to get a date, after all she was (and is) hot. Until next time, peace.
